Sri Lanka’s Wild Drift launches adventure based training in Goa for corporates |
|
Wild Drift, Sri Lanka’s innovative new-generation adventure based trainer for corporate customers, has stretched its wings overseas to conduct team building programmes for global, regional and local companies.
Astrazeneca Saudi Arabia, a member of the global pharmaceutical giant Astrazeneca, recently contracted Wild Drift to carry out a comprehensive programme in the famed Indian resort of Goa during the Annual Marketing Conference of its Middle East Region. |
“Wild Drift now has the capability to conduct team building adventure activities in Goa, which are tailor-made to suit the requirements of any type of company or organization,” said Anuruddha Bandara, Joint Managing Director of Wild Drift. “Sri Lankan companies too can use these programmes, since Goa is within a couple of hours’ flying time and SriLankan Airlines is beginning direct flights twice-weekly from Colombo this month.”
Wild Drift, which was set up in 2001 as a team venture between Rukmal de Silva and Anuruddha Bandara, provides total team related training solutions for all types of organizations at 24 sites throughout Sri Lanka. Its corporate client base of nearly 100 companies includes SriLankan Airlines, MAS Group, John Keells Group, Shell, Glaxo, Hayleys Group, Richard Peiris Group, Hirdaramani Group, and Deutsche Bank AG. |
“With the Wild Drift Goan Challenge we provide complete solutions which can include organizing of conferences/team building programmes, accommodation and air travel. The programme is suitable for a senior management team or could be modified to be offered as a reward or incentive for a sales team who did a wonderful job during the year!” said Rukmal de Silva, Joint Managing Director of Wild Drift. “We have carried out in-depth studies on this location and have all the local contacts for logistics support.”
The programme for Astrazeneca was based at the Park Hyatt Goa, throughout the city itself, and the wilderness around Goa, for more than 80 participants who were split into teams and given physical, mental, social and discovery type challenges to overcome. It was followed by a comprehensive feedback session at which participants were shown video clips of themselves and identified weaknesses were discussed. |
Wild Drift specializes in teamwork and leadership training for the corporate sector. Their training programmes, spiced with adventure and nature based activities, revolve around learning through experience to enable organizations to develop the abilities of their staff to take on today's fast-paced corporate world.
One of Wild Drift’s major strengths is its network of 24 adventure training locations throughout Sri Lanka, from camps to tree houses, jungle lodges, and star class hotels. The company has programmes to fit any of these locations, or any other location chosen by a client. |
The company owns and operates a fully fledged, purpose built, semi-luxury campsite at Belihul Oya which can accommodate up to 100 participants, where it has Sri Lanka’s most advanced High Rope course. Some of its other popular training locations include Bolgoda, Kithugala, Kandalama, Bentota & Puttalam. Their staff of fully qualified staff trainers includes facilitators from Europe.

"Simplifying the Travel Experience" was the theme of the annual Airport Service Conference, which was held at the Mount Lavinia Hotel from October 19-20.
The conference was "spiced up" by Wild Drift (Pvt) Ltd, which certainly livened things up with a series of enjoyable exercises at carefully selected times during the conference, which served to keep participants focused and where also much enjoyed by all. |
